ATLANTA — Gov. Nathan Deal has $1.3 million remaining on a loan to pay off his daughter's failed sporting goods venture.
The trustee overseeing Deal's business assets while he's in office said Thursday that Deal has wiped out more than $700,000 in retirement savings to chip away at the loan for Wilder Outdoors. Deal and his wife, Sandra, inherited the loan on the Habersham County business after their daughter and her husband declared bankruptcy.
